Canceled: Moon Meet 2019
Unfortunately, due to lack of registration, I’m going to have to cancel the third Moon Meet gathering, which was scheduled for July. One day, there will be enough motivation, energy and resources in the Atheopagan community for us to have in-person gatherings at other than a very local level. But it’s important to be realistic, and this particular event isn’t thriving. Meanwhile, Atheopagan U. is a GO! We move onward!

The third annual Moon Meet is a congregation of Atheopagans, non-theist Pagans and others interested in our paths, held from Friday, July 19 through Sunday, July 21, on private land on a redwood-covered mountain near Healdsburg, in the beautiful wine country of Sonoma County, California. Moon Meet—named because we will hold it during the weekend nearest the full moon—is a group camping gathering; a few indoor sleeping locations are available by prior arrangement for those disabled or coming from distance and unable to bring their gear along. Moon Meet 2018—Some Lessons
Our second annual Moon Meet gathering was not what I expected it to be, but it was still wonderful. A cascade of last-minute cancellations brought our numbers down radically, to a core group of six, all of whom had been at the gathering the previous year. I was disappointed not to meet new Atheopagans who had registered for the event but had to cancel, but so it goes: things happen. Moon Meet 2018 was more of a retreat, rather than a community gathering. We discussed it, and we think there are multiple reasons for this. Call for Workshops! Moon Meet 2018
Hi, folks! We’re gathering proposals for workshops at Moon Meet 2018–we have some, but could use more! Moon Meet is a gathering of Atheopagans, other nontheist Pagans and those interested in or curious about our paths, to be held on the weekend of Aug. 24-26, 2018. It is held on private land in the hills outside of Healdsburg, in Sonoma County, California. For details, click here. Workshop slots are 90 minutes long. Typical topics are teaching ritual chants, drumming, dance/movement/tai chi/yoga etc., ritual poetry writing, and crafting ritual tools. We’re excited at the prospect of the second year of Moon Meet, and look forward to meeting you there!
